Overview
Climate research depends on understanding how critical national research infrastructure is being used. Through the AAF and ACCESS-NRI Trust & Identity incubator, ACCESS-NRI is exploring how trusted identity can provide better insight into the use and impact of climate research software, data and services.
AAF and ACCESS-NRI are working together through the Trust & Identity Pathfinder and Capability Incubator Program to explore how trust and identity can improve usage reporting across organisational and service boundaries.
ACCESS-NRI supports Australia’s climate and Earth system science community through the Australian Community Climate and Earth System Simulator (ACCESS), which underpins research that informs climate projections, weather forecasting, seasonal prediction and climate adaptation.
“Through partnering with AAF, we are exploring how we can improve the efficiency of reporting on the use of our services and gain deeper insights into who is using them. This information is important for planning future investment and ensuring we continue to support the needs of researchers, government and industry tackling climate change.”
Andy Hogg, Director, ACCESS-NRI
By participating in the incubator program, ACCESS-NRI is helping explore how trusted identity can reduce reporting effort, strengthen impact measurement and provide evidence to support the future of Australia’s climate research infrastructure.
