Australian ORCID Consortium – Funders Webinar
Persistent Identifiers for the Australian research ecosystem: Information Session with ARC and NHMRC
Tuesday 9 December, 10:30 – 11:30am AEST | Online
About the event
This December, join our national funding agencies the Australian Research Council (ARC) and the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) to hear them discuss the evolving landscape of persistent identifiers including ORCID.
This session will provide attendees with timely updates on key policy developments currently underway in both ARC and NMHRC. Both funding agencies play a pivotal role in shaping Australia’s research landscape and are members of the Australian ORCID Consortium. As Consortium Lead, the AAF is privileged to host them for this important conversation. Their presentations will offer the members of the Australian ORCID Consortium and the wider research community the opportunity to gain clarity on how these changes may impact current and future research activities.
The Australian Research Council (ARC) is a Commonwealth entity established as an independent body with the purpose to help shape Australian research for the nation’s economic, social, environmental and cultural benefit. This is achieved by enabling excellent research; evaluating the excellence, impact and depth of Australian research; providing expert advice and research grants services; supporting research integrity and promoting ethical research.
The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) is Australia’s leading Government agency for supporting health and medical research for the improvement of individual and population health. It does this through funding high quality research, supporting the translation of research into evidence-based practice and policy, and providing guidance on responsible research practices and ethical issues.
