AAF were pleased to attend Research Bazaar (ResBaz) Queensland July 1-3, University of the Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay.

ResBaz is a three-day festival of digital research training, where researchers from all disciplines come together to learn new skills in an interactive, collaborative and – above all – fun setting. Featuring workshops, talks, discussion sessions, networking and plenty of social activities, ResBazQld provides participatory training spanning nearly fifty different topics of cutting-edge digital research tools and techniques.

Here are some of the team’s key takeaways from ResBaz:
  • Inspiring to hear firsthand the exciting progress and collaboration happening across NCRIS activities
  • Enjoyed being part of an inspiring event that champions collaboration and curiosity
  • Valuable conversations about the risks of AI and the frameworks needed to mitigate these risks safely and ethically
  • Great opportunity to connect with various people who are at different stages of their research careers

AAF’s ORCID Community Specialist, Julie Toohey, presented at ResBaz on July 1.

In this workshop, Julie explored why researchers and academic staff need an ORCID. By allowing trusted organisations like ARC, NHMRC, your university, or publishers to update your ORCID record automatically, you can skip the tedious admin work and dive deeper into what really matters, your research! Keep your academic identity strong and stress free with ORCID.

ResBaz brings together:
  • Researchers at all levels and from all disciplines
  • PhD & research master’s students
  • Early career researchers
  • Research technologists
  • Research software engineers
